About The Project - Design Concept

Heal community justice center takes inspiration from the action of breaking free from the constraints of societal norms and misconceptions that restrict and hold back our legal system and our community as a whole. Breaking free from the institute to create a place for the community. The design itself represents this action by breaking free from the existing structure and using color and a contrast of warm with cold materials and tones to highlight the moments in which the design breaks free from the flat surfaces of the interior and into the 3d realm. Existing planes and flat surfaces remain neutral tones of white and grey, while inserted elements offer vibrant splashes of color, emphasizing this idea of breaking free from the past to create a truly just and positive system and society. The justice center offers several amenities and services, including a shared garden with the little tokyo branch library.
